About the Australian Guangdong Chamber of Commerce (AGCC)
Established in 2013 and headquartered in the vibrant city of Sydney, the Australian Guangdong Chamber of Commerce (AGCC) is one of Australia’s most influential business associations serving the Guangdong-origin Chinese community. As a non-profit organization, AGCC is committed to promoting trade, investment, and cultural exchange between Guangdong Province and Australia, fostering deeper ties between the two regions.
AGCC’s membership spans across a diverse range of industries, including import & export, agriculture, construction, finance, education, tourism, hospitality, and technology. The Chamber regularly hosts business forums, industry roundtables, trade delegations, and investment networking events, providing members with critical insights, resources, and commercial opportunities.
As an officially authorized overseas body by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade – Guangdong Committee (CCPIT Guangdong), AGCC is a founding member of the RCEP Guangdong Business Alliance, actively participating in multilateral cooperation initiatives with chambers across RCEP member states.
Milestones and Global Engagement
On September 13, 2013, the Australian Guangdong Overseas Chinese Association was formally registered, consolidating and expanding the network of Guangdong-origin associations in Australia. The Association now includes over 45 member organizations, such as the Australian Chaozhou Association and the Yao Ming Hong Fu Tang Association.
In 2015, AGCC successfully hosted the 8th World Guangdong Community Fellowship Conference and the 2nd World Conference of Guangdong Overseas Chinese Youth, attracting over 2,000 delegates from more than 60 countries and regions, and over 360 Guangdong associations. The event showcased the global cohesion and influence of the Guangdong diaspora.
In March 2024, AGCC entered strategic partnerships with multiple international chambers and business organizations based in Sydney, including:
The Chushang Federation
Hong Kong Australia Business Association
Australian Chinese Catering Association
Australia–China Charity Foundation
Hubei, Sichuan, Henan, Chongqing, and Shandong Chambers
In addition, AGCC maintains strong sister-chamber relationships with organizations across Guangdong, including in Shenzhen, Dongguan, Foshan, Chaoshan, Huizhou, Zhaoqing, Zhongshan, and Zhuhai. These partnerships continue to expand AGCC’s domestic and international footprint.
Mission and Social Responsibility
Beyond its core business focus, AGCC also actively promotes Chinese culture, supports cooperation between overseas Chinese community organizations, and represents Guangdong-linked associations in their engagements with Chinese diplomatic missions in Australia and the Guangdong Overseas Chinese Affairs Office.
The Chamber serves as a communication bridge between the Australian Chinese community and relevant departments in China, reflecting community voices and policy feedback.
Looking forward, AGCC remains committed to fostering a more connected and prosperous future by strengthening bilateral cooperation, empowering businesses, and promoting Guangdong-Australia engagement across all levels of society.
