The Australian Guangdong Overseas Chinese Association was registered and established on September 13, 2013. The members of the association include 45 Cantonese overseas Chinese organizations, such as the Chaozhou Association of Australia and the Hongfutang Association of Australia.

Its purpose is to: (1) fully leverage the advantages of the long history and significant influence of the Guangdong Chinese community in Australia on the development of overseas Chinese, further expand the influence of overseas Chinese in various aspects such as politics, economy, and culture in Australia, and promote Chinese culture; (2) Organize and arrange activities between associations of Guangdong origin in Australia, enhance communication and exchange among various associations, strengthen cooperation and unity among associations; (3) Representing overseas Chinese organizations from various Guangdong provinces in Australia, maintaining regular communication with Chinese diplomatic institutions and Guangdong Provincial Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, regularly conveying new policies and related activity arrangements to the Australian overseas Chinese community, and promptly reflecting the ideas and suggestions of the Australian overseas Chinese community to relevant departments in China, actively seeking support from relevant departments for various work of the Australian overseas Chinese community.

There will always be a board of directors, a council, and an executive committee. Among them, the board of directors is the highest leadership body, with one chairman and several directors. The chairman of the board of directors is elected by all directors and has a term of five years; The members of the board of directors are appointed by the heads of various overseas Chinese organizations that initiated the establishment of the association, and the chairman of the board of directors is elected by the vote of all directors; The Executive Committee is composed of the incumbent presidents of various overseas Chinese organizations, and the president of the Executive Committee is elected by all the incumbent presidents of participating overseas Chinese organizations in rotation, with a term of one year and cannot be re elected.

The current Chairman of the Board of Directors is Huang Xiangmo, the Chairman of the Board of Directors is Huang Yiqiang, and the Chairman of the Executive Committee is Li Guoxing. The general convener of the association is Wang Guozhong.
