The Australian Guangdong Overseas Chinese Association, established in 2013, held a gala on Monday evening with the Australian Guangdong Chamber of Commerce at the Crown Restaurant in Chinatown, Sydney, marking the second time the association has gathered together after all its activities were affected by the global pandemic outbreak.

Nearly 200 representatives from different cities and towns in Guangdong attended the event. These include Hongmen Zhigong Hall in Australia, Guangdong Chamber of Commerce in Australia, Guangzhou Federation in Australia, Foshan Friendship Association Association in Australia, Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Fellowship in Australia, snow pear Academy of Performing Arts, Zhuhai Friendship Association in Australia, Nanhai Fellowship Association, Zhongshan Fellowship Association in Australia, Cantonese (Zhuji) Fellowship Association in Australia, Siyi Fellowship Association, Chinese Western Music and Drama Association and Australian Chinese Folk Art Center.

Wang Guozhong, Director of the Australian Guangdong Overseas Chinese Association and President of the Australian Guangdong Chamber of Commerce, said in his speech at the dinner that he was delighted that everyone could reunite and reminisce about friendship after three years of the pandemic. He also encouraged the guests from Guangdong overseas Chinese organizations and various sectors of society to join hands and unite to better serve society.

Yu Weida, President of the Guangdong Overseas Chinese Association in Australia, expressed his gratitude to all overseas Chinese organizations and representatives from various sectors of society for attending the dinner that evening and celebrating the rare gathering after the epidemic. He then extended his best wishes for a happy Christmas and New Year to the Guangdong compatriots and friends from all walks of life.

The evening gathering was held in a relaxed, warm, harmonious, and joyful atmosphere, with directors Jiang Zhenbiao and Tang Weiming serving as emcees.
