Professional Background
Leo Yang moved to Australia in 2003 to pursue higher education and graduated from Macquarie University with a major in Accounting and Business Administration. He ventured into entrepreneurship across sectors such as hospitality and logistics, gaining extensive hands-on experience in startup operations. He is currently studying blockchain innovation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), deepening his understanding of blockchain fundamentals and its industry applications.
In 2012, Mr. Yang was appointed Executive Director of Australian Gold & Silver Exchange (AGSX). Under his leadership, the company achieved over AUD $1.5 billion in cumulative sales within three years, reinforcing its position as a market leader. His strategic vision and deep market insight have transformed AGSX into a benchmark enterprise in the industry.
Innovation & Investment in Web3
In recent years, Leo has actively expanded into the high-tech sector, especially in Web3 investment. As lead investor and co-founder of AOG Ventures, he participated in the seed funding of OpenGate, a next-generation Web3 trading platform.
In 2022, OpenGate secured USD $10 million in funding and established strategic partnerships with globally recognized IPs and artists, including Pleasant Goat & Big Big Wolf, renowned Asian artists Shen Jingdong and Tian Liusha, and football legend Fabio Cannavaro. The platform has been instrumental in accelerating Web3 technology adoption, with its most recent valuation reaching USD $150 million.

While pursuing business success, Leo Yang has remained deeply committed to giving back to society. He established the Qingyun Education Fund under the Guangdong Charity Federation, which supports underprivileged students in rural China with scholarships, learning resources, and long-term assistance.
In addition, he has served as the Executive Chair of the Sydney Opera House “China Red” Lunar New Year Charity Gala for three consecutive years — an event that promotes cultural exchange and international goodwill between China and Australia.
In March 2017, Mr. Yang was personally received by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang during his official visit to Australia, in recognition of his contributions as an outstanding representative of Chinese youth leaders abroad. He has also been invited to private meetings with multiple former Australian Prime Ministers and senior officials in acknowledgment of his role in fostering community and business ties.
